Taking the Pathfinder X to a new level with added electric assist, The Pathfinder XE proves that functional starts with fun.
Built upon our lightweight, performance-focused Pathfinder frame that is hand-crafted with a unique combination of trusted Reynolds 725, 631 and 525 butted steel tubes, the internal 250Wh battery is subtly positioned within the oversized down tube.
The Pathfinder range is new and exciting from Pashley and channels a near century of manufacturing expertise into a modern and technologically-advanced platform.
Featuring 3D printed elements like the seat stay to top tube junction and IWOC controller housing, the Pathfinder XE delivers controlled and precise handling thanks to the full carbon fibre fork whilst also providing excellent stiffness for out-of-the-saddle uphill efforts and reducing road vibrations.
Delivering smooth power to the drivetrain is the Mahle X30 rear hub motor that produces 250W and 45Nm of almost silent and controlled power. The internal battery can also be supplemented with the eX1 range extender adding an additional 70% to your range, pushing your ride limits even further.
Receiving the combined power of you and the motor is the Shimano Cues 1x11 drivetrain which matches an 11-43T wide-range cassette to a 40T chainset with a narrow / wide chainring for enhanced chain retention when the terrain turns bumpy.
Powerful hydraulic disc brakes offer instant stopping power and a superior level of modulation, providing complete control over your speed on any terrain.
Connecting you to your Pathfinder X is the all-weather Brooks Cambium C15 saddle, which emulates the characteristics of a traditional leather saddle but uses vulcanised rubber for enhanced performance.
The Pathfinder XE is the e-bike that delivers miles of electrically assisted fun and adventure on and off-road with ease and in style. All of this in package that weighs just 17kg.
The Pathfinder XE comes in the three frame sizes shown below, followed by their corresponding inside leg length range.
For full geometry measurements please Click Here
Frame Size | Inside Leg Length |
Small | 27.5-31.5" |
Medium | 30-34" |
Large | 32-36" |
The frame size is the distance between the centrepoint of the cycle's bottom bracket (where the pedal arms extend from) and the top of the frame's seat tube (where the seatpost enters the frame).
Leg length should be measured from the sole of your foot to the inner top of your thigh (in inches) - please note that this is a different measurement to your trouser inside leg length. If your inside leg length falls in-between two frame sizes and you are unsure which size is best for you, please visit our Sizing Page for further guidance.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What is the range of the battery?
We've tested the internal battery and Mahle X30 hub motor in all sorts of conditions and terrains, a range of 50 -90km is achievable depending on rider weight, terrain, weather and power level chosen.
A range extender is also available to add a further 70% range.
Can I adjust the power output?
Yes, the power control is integrated into the top-tube of the frame in a unique 3D printed steel housing. Power assist levels can be adjusted by pressing the button on the controller. This can be done whilst riding as well as when static.
What does the Pathfinder weigh?
Whilst each bicycle is hand-built and the weight could vary, on average the Pathfinder XE will weigh under 18kgs.
Can I ride the Pathfinder XE on gravel paths as well as roads?
The Pathfinder X has been designed to traverse both tarmac and gravel. Whilst it is not an outright "off-road" or mountain bike, it is perfectly comfortable on off road cycle trails or canal towpaths.
My inside leg length falls between two frame sizes - which should I choose?
Choose the smaller size frame if you prefer to put your feet flat on the ground when stopping. If you prefer to have your handlebars much higher than your saddle, so you are seated in a very upright position, choose the larger frame size; you’ll still be able to put your tip-toes down when stopping. If you are still unsure which size is best for you, please feel free to call us on 01789 292 263 (Mon-Fri, 9-5pm) and we would be happy to advise you.
Can I test ride a Pathfinder X somewhere?
Our local store in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Traditional Cycle Shop, has a wide range of Pashleys you can view and test ride. You can also find other specialist Pashley dealers who have cycles in store to try via our dealer map.
