Pathfinder X

The Pathfinder X, a truly unique British bicycle that redefines versatility and style.

Inspired by the purist machines ridden by the mountain bike pioneers and the retro style and versatility they now represent, the Pathfinder X is a bicycle designed to blur the boundary between the urban jungle and off-road tracks and trails. This is a bicycle equally at home cutting through traffic as it is exploring the path less travelled.

The Pathfinder X is made from the highest quality Reynolds steel and is meticulously hand-crafted in England. This is a discipline-crossing machine designed for the modern-day explorer, traversing a multitude of terrains with style and purpose.

With a nod towards Pashley's legendary dirt and trials dominance during the late 90s the Pathfinder X seamlessly blends city commuting with off-road adventures, making it your perfect partner for both the urban 9-5 and an off-duty weekend exploring on gravel. Equipped with wide ratio gearing, powerful hydraulic disc brakes, mountain bike tyres and a lightweight carbon fibre fork, enjoy a captivating, smooth, responsive ride whatever path you take.

A sleek front Porteur rack adds to the practicality of the Pathfinder X, giving you the option to carry essential luggage without compromising on style.

The Pathfinder X is a striking choice, combining quality craftsmanship and retro mountain bike style, with a modern and rugged finish.

The Pathfinder X is proudly undefined, crossing disciplines, making a statement and delivering an exciting ride anywhere you take it.

The Pathfinder range is new from Pashley and channels a near century of manufacturing expertise into a modern and technologically-advanced platform.

The Pathfinder frame is lightweight, performance-focused and hand-crafted at our factory in Stratford-upon-Avon with a unique combination of trusted Reynolds 725, 631 and 525 butted steel tubes, featuring a confidence-inspiring geometry that gives the rider the ability to tackle a broad spectrum of cycling demands.

Featuring a 3D printed stainless steel seat stay to top tube junction and internal cable routing, the Pathfinder X frame is complimented by a full carbon fibre fork with tapered steerer, which offers extra ride comfort whilst also increasing torsional stiffness - ideal for precise handling and out of the saddle efforts on technical climbs. This wide blade fork is also fitted with direct mounting points for the Pashley-designed and built front Porteur rack.

Delivering the power to the road is the Shimano Cues 1x11 drivetrain which matches an 11-43T wide range cassette to a 40T chainset with a narrow / wide chainring for enhanced chain retention when the terrain turns bumpy.

Powerful hydraulic disc brakes offer instant stopping power, while single-finger braking provides superior control.

Connecting you to your Pathfinder X is the all-weather Brooks Cambium C15 saddle, which emulates the characteristics of a traditional leather saddle but uses vulcanised rubber for enhanced performance.

The Pathfinder X is a bicycle that is intentionally unrestricted, providing you with a blank canvas to tackle the city, town or country, your way.

The Pathfinder E comes in the three frame sizes shown below, followed by their corresponding inside leg length range.

For full geometry measurements please Click Here

Frame SizeInside Leg Length
Small27.5-31.5"
Medium30-34"
Large32-36"

The frame size is the distance between the centrepoint of the cycle's bottom bracket (where the pedal arms extend from) and the top of the frame's seat tube (where the seatpost enters the frame).

Leg length should be measured from the sole of your foot to the inner top of your thigh (in inches) - please note that this is a different measurement to your trouser inside leg length. If your inside leg length falls in-between two frame sizes and you are unsure which size is best for you, please visit our Sizing Page for further guidance.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

My inside leg length falls between two frame sizes - which should I choose?

Choose the smaller size frame if you prefer to put your feet flat on the ground when stopping. If you prefer to have your handlebars much higher than your saddle, so you are seated in a very upright position, choose the larger frame size; you’ll still be able to put your tip-toes down when stopping. If you are still unsure which size is best for you, please feel free to call us on 01789 292 263 (Mon-Fri, 9-5pm) and we would be happy to advise you.

Can I ride the Pathfinder X on gravel paths as well as roads?

The Pathfinder X has been designed to traverse both tarmac and gravel. Whilst it is not an outright "off-road" or mountain bike, it is perfectly comfortable on off-road cycle trails or canal towpaths.

Can I test ride a Pathfinder X somewhere?

Our local store in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Traditional Cycle Shop, has a wide range of Pashleys you can view and test ride. You can also find other specialist Pashley dealers who have cycles in store to try via our dealer map.
