Friday 10th of July is when everyone starts working together to cut Britian's carbon footprint in time for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Celebrities, schools and business’ will all be involved in eco-events happening in 20 cities around the UK to help people learn more about going green. Olympic gold medal cyclist Victoria Pendleton (shown above with our ‘home-grown’ Pashley Poppy) will show us how to make our wardrobes more sustainable. She will be wearing a green Union Flag dress made by British designer Wayne Hemingway using recycled materials. For its first year, Green Britain Day - which is expected to become an annual event - will climax with a concert at the Eden Project, starring rock legend Paul Weller and indie soul band Florence and the Machine.
