The Pronto was specifically designed to meet the exacting standards of the Royal Mail, beating competition from around the world to become the sole choice for daily mail deliveries across the UK. Under Royal Mail’s name the ‘Mailstar’, there were over 5000 in active service at any one time.
With both front and rear carriers, it can carry loads up to 40 kilos whilst remaining steady and easy to ride. This is aided by the specially designed step-through frame, which allows for safe mounting and dismounting even when fully loaded. The Pronto can cope with all areas of commercial and industrial use, thanks to all-weather hub brakes and gears as well as robust puncture resistant tyres. This also makes it extremely low-maintenance, reducing the costs to your business in the long term.
Thoughtful features like easy trigger gear controls and a quick adjust seatpost means it can be used by all personnel without fuss and only the bare minimum of training. The Pronto is therefore a dependable mode of transport and a versatile alternative to licensed vehicles, all backed up by Pashley’s unique British hand-built quality.

The frame size is the distance between the centrepoint of the cycle's bottom bracket (where the pedal arms extend from) and the top of the frame's seat tube (where the seatpost enters the frame).
Leg length should be measured from the sole of your foot to the inner top of your thigh (in inches) - please note that this is a different measurement to your trouser inside leg length.

Electric
Extra oomph!
The Pronto can be equipped with electric assistance. A powerful 250W, 80Nm torque motor can be fitted to the bottom bracket with a 750Wh, lockable battery integrated into the rear carrier. The system provides a range of up to 50Km and pedal-assistance up to 25kmph.

Heavy-duty Stand
A robust ‘kick-down’ propstand with twin legs for added stability. The stand can be folded down with ease to provide a sturdy parking base whilst delivering goods or displaying your bicycle for promotion.
Fork Headlamp
A fork mounted dynamo headlamp that provides 15 Lux light output and features an integrated reflector. The clear side lens window also allows the light to be visible from the side. Its features enhance the rider’s safety, as they are better seen by other traffic and the road in front is well lighted.
Wheel Lock
Secure the bicycle, through the rear wheel, with the simple push of a lever and key-turn giving security and peace of mind without the need to carry a separate bike lock. Ideal for ‘quick-stops’ when making deliveries.
Rear Rack Light
A highly durable rear light with large integrated reflectors. It can be fitted on to the rear of a carrier rack for added visibility and safety in gloomy conditions and at night. It contains two bright LEDs that are visible from 350m.
Mudguard Light
A robust rear LED light with large integrated reflector. The light can be fitted on to the rear mudguard for added visibility and safety in gloomy conditions and at night. It contains a single bright LED that can be seen clearly at a distance.
Classic Bell
Lovely and loud, our splendid 'ding-dong' bell is a sure-fire way to make others aware of your presence. Designed to be positioned on the handlebar of a bicycle, the bell has a traditional chromed metal domed shape and is operated by an easy-to-use thumb lever.
Traditional Saddle
A classically sprung leather saddle with double support rails for supreme comfort; it is the ideal all-rounder. The leather allows the saddle to breathe and form to the rider’s shape over time, becoming uniquely comfortable. With handy rear luggage loops.
